RUMINATIONS

By Kaycee

I love listening to all genres of podcasts, but one of my favorites is one about etiquette, called “Were You Raised by Wolves.” I have learned to always pass the salt & pepper shakers at the same time, to promptly RSVP to invites, and that a handwritten thank-you note is always appreciated.  Pretty commonsense stuff.

I’ll pass on a few other things I’ve learned along the way…

If you are undergoing chemo treatments, and someone brings you dinner, DO NOT tell them later that their meal was the one time you got sick during treatments.

When you stay at a friend’s house overnight, DO NOT tell them later that the bed was so uncomfortable you will need to find another place to stay the next time.

Someone you know invites you to watch their marathon next weekend that needs to be run virtually. DO NOT tell them that the date is inconvenient, and ‘could they move it to the following week?’

Thanksgiving is not the day to decide you need to lose weight, so you will skip eating and just drink alcohol, instead.  It’s NOT a good look when you fall asleep sitting up at the holiday dinner table.

Stay tuned for more excerpts from my upcoming book, entitled “WHO DOES THAT??”

RUNNIN’ OFF AT THE MOUTH

“I won’t kid you and suggest that working out can’t often seem like a chore, but I will tell you that the benefits far outweigh the sacrifice.” –Florence Griffith Joyner

“My whole teaching in one sentence is: “Run slowly, run daily, drink moderately, and don’t eat like a pig.” –Dr. Ernest van Aaken

“I get more gratification out of getting some obese person who had a heart attack running around and enjoying life within a year. I get more gratification from that than putting a person on the Olympic games.” –Arthur Lydiard
